Details of Wedding Ceremony

Since the last post was about wedding ceremonies and inspirational ideas for them, we wanted to give some tips on planning the details of your wedding ceremony. There are quite a few factors that you must decide on when planning the perfect wedding ceremony. Take a look below for our tips and pointers!

  • The Officiant- You need to decide whether you would like to have a civil ceremony or religious ceremony. This will depend on what officiant is used, either a minister or magistrate. Depending on your religious faith, there may be certain pre marital sessions you may have to attend. The important thing is to feel comfortable with your officiant, so choose wisely!
  • Readings- You can decide whether or not you would like to have readings incorporated into your wedding ceremony. These readings can range from poems to religious proverbs to spiritual passages. You must also decide who your reader/s will be. You may want the reader to be a person who is not in the wedding party but you wish them to partake in your wedding somehow.
  • Wedding Vows- You can have traditional vows where you just repeat after the officiant or you can have the option of writing your own vows and expressing them to one another in the ceremony. This is entirely your decision and depending on the officiant, you can customize the ceremony to fit your personalities.
  • Ceremony Music- There are many different options to choose from, you may want a tropical steel pan, string quartet, violinist or guitarist. You just need to choose the option which best suits your ceremony and what you wish to have. You must also think about the songs played for the prosessional, bridal march and recessional, along with the signing of the certificate.
  • Design/Setup- There are a multitude of ways to design the set up for your ceremony. You can have a chuppha, arbour, floral pedestals, tiki torches etc. Depending on the quantity of guests attending you may or may not have seating for them.

Hope these pointers are helpful! Happy Friday to everyone!
