“Weddings by Malissa” was opened in 2005 and has been in operation for the past eight years and has been managed by the creative mind of Malissa Blackman. She wanted to create a very impressive wedding firm, where Brides from around the world can feel that they are planning their destination wedding in a friendly environment and not have an impersonal experience planning it.
She wanted the name to make Brides feel comfortable and reassured that with her planning the wedding it will be amazing. Fresh out of college in Miami, Malissa was ready to conquer the world and started working in the Tourist Industry in Barbados in 2001, and in 2004 with her knowledge of the Tourist Industry along with her work relationships she created and her passion of making clients happy she decided to enter into the wedding industry in Barbados.
Malissa started off “Weddings By Malissa” as a part time career and every year since 2005, it has grown continuously and expanded fully on December 19th, 2009 doing over 25 destination weddings a year. “Weddings By Malissa” is made up of a skilful and talented team those being Melanie Weekes and Jessica Foster who continue to help her focus on her clients specific needs for their special day.
Malissa and her team have created an amazing service where Brides can now do everything for their wedding and holiday with her and everything can be customized for them. “Weddings By Malissa” not only covers every aspect of the wedding, but, we also do flight travel, hotel or villa accommodation, excursion and group events for the Bride and her guests, transportation to and from airport in Barbados, invitations and rentals.
Malissa and her team have expanded even more in 2011 with Alpheus Holidays in the United Kingdom and she now has offices with them in the U.K. , to make the Bride’s wedding experience even easier for them to enjoy.

The consortium of both services we feel will be welcomed by the ever changing Market place as together we can now offer a one stop wedding service for the bride and groom their families and guests.
